I like trying new foods that I see in the store so when Papa Murphy’s started advertising their limited time only, Outlaw Pizza I had to give it a try.
Apparently, this is only going to be available June through September of 2021. If you are reading this after that, you have likely missed out.
The Fritos Outlaw Pizza features a crispy, thin crust topped their creamy garlic sauce, whole milk mozzarella cheese, Texas brisket, onion mix, sweet BBQ sauce drizzle, and of course, a layer of crunchy Fritos.
Pro-Tip – Never bake your take and bake pizzas on the paper tray. You will get a soggy crust every time. You want to transfer them to a pizza screen so the crust actually gets a little crispy. Pro-tip, put a baking sheet or silicone drip mat under your pizza to catch any grease that may come off your pizzas.
Final Verdict on the Outlaw Pizza
After a quick bake, my assistant and I tried the Outlaw Pizza and it was interesting. There was a nice balance in flavors and I thought the saltiness of the Fritos added a little depth to the whole flavor profile. We did both agree that the pizza could use just a touch more of the BBQ sauce. Not much, just a little more to bring that flavor up a bit.
